AZARK WordPress Website Redesign & User Experience Optimization
Transforming an outdated business website into a clearer, more intuitive digital experience.
AZARK needed a modern website experience that could clearly communicate its services, projects, and business information to visitors. The existing website had an outdated visual design, inconsistent layouts, and usability issues that made important information harder to find. As the lead WordPress developer, I redesigned the website across its pages using WordPress, Divi Theme Builder, Slider Revolution, custom CSS/code, and responsive design techniques. I focused on improving the visual hierarchy, navigation, mobile experience, content discoverability, and SEO foundation while maintaining the flexibility required for an ongoing business website. The project is still evolving as AZARK continues to update and expand its online presence.

From an Outdated Website to a Clearer Digital Experience
AZARK needed more than a visual refresh. The existing website had an outdated design and several usability issues that made it difficult for visitors to quickly understand the business and find the information they needed.
The goal was to create a cleaner, more modern, and more intuitive WordPress website while establishing a stronger foundation for long-term SEO and content growth.
The Challenge#
The original website presented several challenges:
- An outdated visual appearance that no longer represented the business effectively.
- Inconsistent layouts and design patterns across different pages.
- Weak visual hierarchy between important sections.
- Important business information was not always immediately clear to visitors.
- Desktop and mobile layouts relied heavily on duplicated components.
- Changes made to one responsive version could create issues in another.
- The website needed a stronger SEO foundation for future organic growth.
The responsive component structure was one of the biggest technical challenges. Some sections had separate desktop and mobile implementations, which meant that fixing a design issue in one version could unintentionally create another issue elsewhere.
The Goal#
The project focused on three main objectives:
- Improve the overall user experience so visitors could understand AZARK's services more quickly.
- Modernize the interface with cleaner layouts, stronger visual hierarchy, and consistent design patterns.
- Strengthen the website's SEO foundation to support long-term organic search visibility.
The redesign treated UX, content structure, responsive design, and SEO as connected parts of the same website experience rather than separate tasks.
My Role#
I worked as the Lead WordPress Developer, responsible for the website redesign, front-end implementation, responsive optimization, and SEO improvements.
My responsibilities included:
- WordPress development and customization.
- Divi Theme Builder implementation.
- Website-wide UI redesign.
- Responsive desktop, tablet, and mobile development.
- Custom CSS and front-end code.
- Slider Revolution implementation.
- UX and information hierarchy improvements.
- Navigation and content discoverability improvements.
- On-page SEO optimization.
- Internal linking improvements.
- Image and heading optimization.
- Ongoing website maintenance and improvements.
Improving the User Experience#
The redesign was approached from the perspective of a first-time visitor.
The objective was simple: visitors should be able to understand what AZARK does and find relevant information without unnecessary friction.
I improved the page structure by introducing clearer content sections, stronger visual hierarchy, more prominent calls to action, and better separation between different types of information.
Navigation and page layouts were also refined to create a more natural path through the website.
The redesigned experience makes important information easier to scan while giving each section a clearer purpose.
Solving the Responsive Design Challenge#
One of the most challenging parts of the project was the existing desktop and mobile component structure.
Several sections effectively had separate implementations for different screen sizes. This created a maintenance problem where a change made for desktop could affect the mobile experience, or vice versa.
To solve this, I used a combination of Divi's responsive controls and custom CSS/front-end code.
This approach allowed me to:
- Control layouts across different breakpoints.
- Fix spacing and sizing inconsistencies.
- Improve mobile-specific behavior.
- Reduce visual differences between devices.
- Preserve Divi's visual editing capabilities.
- Add custom responsive behavior where Divi's default controls were not enough.
The goal was not simply to make the website responsive. The goal was to make the experience feel intentionally designed for every screen size.
WordPress & Divi Development#
The website was built and redesigned using WordPress with Divi Theme Builder.
Divi provided the foundation for creating and managing page layouts, while custom CSS and front-end code were introduced wherever more precise control was required.
This hybrid approach provided the flexibility of a visual page builder while still allowing deeper customization of responsive behavior, spacing, layouts, and individual components.
Slider Revolution#
Slider Revolution was used for interactive and visually prominent website sections.
The implementation was customized to fit the redesigned visual language and responsive requirements rather than relying solely on default slider configurations.
This helped create more engaging visual sections while maintaining consistency with the rest of the website.
SEO Optimization#
SEO was incorporated directly into the redesign process rather than being treated as a separate task after development.
The optimization work included:
- Improving page heading hierarchy.
- Structuring content around user search intent.
- Optimizing page titles and meta descriptions.
- Improving internal linking opportunities.
- Improving content discoverability.
- Optimizing image usage and alt text.
- Improving page structure for search engine crawlers.
- Managing on-page SEO through Rank Math.
- Monitoring organic search performance through Google Search Console.
- Tracking visitor behavior through Google Analytics.
- Using Cloudflare as part of the website's infrastructure and performance layer.
The objective was to create a website that is easier for both users and search engines to understand.
Analytics & Search Monitoring#
The website uses Google Analytics and Google Search Console to monitor visitor behavior and organic search performance.
These tools provide an ongoing feedback loop for identifying opportunities to improve content, usability, navigation, and search visibility.
Because AZARK is an ongoing project, analytics and search data can continue to guide future improvements instead of treating the redesign as a one-time activity.
Ongoing Development#
AZARK is an ongoing website development project.
Rather than considering the redesign a one-time launch, the website continues to evolve as the business updates its services, projects, information, and online presence.
This approach allows improvements to be introduced continuously while maintaining the existing WordPress foundation.
The Result#
The redesign created a stronger foundation for AZARK's digital presence.
Key improvements include:
- A more modern and professional visual experience.
- Clearer presentation of business information.
- Improved page hierarchy and content organization.
- Better responsive behavior across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- More consistent website-wide design patterns.
- Improved maintainability of responsive layouts.
- Stronger on-page SEO foundations.
- Better visibility into website and search performance.
- A flexible WordPress foundation for continued growth.
Most importantly, the website is now structured around a simple principle:
Visitors should be able to understand what AZARK does and find the information they need without unnecessary friction.
Conclusion#
The AZARK project demonstrates how an existing WordPress website can be transformed into a more modern, usable, and SEO-ready digital experience without losing the flexibility of a visual page builder.
By combining WordPress development, Divi Theme Builder, custom responsive code, UX improvements, and SEO optimization, I created a stronger foundation for AZARK's continued online growth.
The project remains ongoing, allowing the website to continue improving alongside the business.
